Friars Balsam

by Admin on September 18, 2011

Friars Balsam is something that everyone’s grandmother has heard of but is not so well known these days. A more modern name for Friars Balsam is Tincture of Benzoin compound. It is used to help adhesive tape stick better and can protect the skin from the tape in those who have an allergy to tape.  Its does have an odd or pungent odor. It is made from a benzoin resin in alcohol.
